Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal information SEElight Trading collects, what we do with it, and your rights.

Who we are

We're See Light Trading Ltd, trading as SEElight Trading, registered in England and Wales, company number 12773708. We're the "controller" of your personal information, which means we decide how it's used.

  • Trading address: Unit 4, Waterside Park, Wolverton, Milton Keynes MK12 5NP

  • Registered office: 106 Rosemullion Avenue, Tattenhoe, Milton Keynes MK4 3AY

  • Email: sales@seelight.co.uk

  • Phone: 01908 313 083

  • VAT number: 370 6937 74

For any privacy question or request, email sales@seelight.co.uk with "Privacy" in the subject line.

What we collect and why

Website visits. When you visit our site, Wix (our website platform) and its security service log technical details such as your IP address, browser and device, to run the site and keep it secure. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics also records how you use the site (pages viewed, rough location, device type) so we can see what's useful.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests (running a secure website) for the technical logs; consent for analytics, which you can withdraw any time with the privacy button.

Website enquiries. Our contact forms (home page, Contact page and trade pricing form) ask for your name, email and message, plus a subject or your business name. We use these details to reply and quote.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests (answering people who have asked us something).

Phone, email and WhatsApp. If you call, email or message us, we keep your details and what you asked so we can deal with it.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests, or contract once you order.

Orders and trade accounts. To supply you, we need your name, business name, delivery and invoice addresses, phone, email, and a record of what you've ordered and paid. We use the details on a trade credit account form to set up and run that account.

Lawful basis: contract (supplying you); legitimate interests (running your trade account: statements and queries); legal obligation (accounting and tax records).

Marketplace orders. If you buy from us through an online marketplace, it passes us your name, delivery address and order details so we can send your order. We use them for that, for after-sales questions and for our accounts.

Lawful basis: contract; legal obligation (accounting and tax records).

Newsletter. If you sign up, we hold your email address in Mailchimp, which sends our emails. Mailchimp uses tracked links and a tiny image in each email to tell us whether it was opened or clicked, and whether it bounced or you unsubscribed. The sign-up form on our home page loads its files from Mailchimp, which receives your IP address when the page opens but sets no cookies.

Lawful basis: consent, if you signed up yourself. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can stop it at any time.

Business contacts. We sometimes collect work contact details (name, job title, business email and phone) from public company websites, LinkedIn, Companies House and local business networking groups, to tell firms about our products and invite people to networking events. When we first contact you, we'll say where we found your details.

Lawful basis: legitimate interests (finding new trade customers and building local business contacts). Ask us to stop and we will. We keep a short note so we don't contact you again.

Deliveries for other companies. We also store and dispatch goods for other businesses. For those deliveries we act on their behalf, and their privacy notice applies.

You don't have to give us your details, but without them we can't answer you or supply your order. We don't make decisions about you by automated means.

Card payments

We don't keep card details. Card payments by phone are keyed straight into Worldpay's system, or paid through a Worldpay payment link, and only Worldpay holds the card number. If someone sends us card details by email or post, we delete or shred them and ask them to pay another way.

Our website takes no payments. If you buy from us through an online marketplace, the marketplace takes the payment and we never see your card details.

Who we share it with

  • Wix: hosts our website and forms. Its cookie tool, Usercentrics, records your cookie choice.

  • 123-reg and Google: business email and file storage. Google also runs Google Analytics and Google Maps, if you accept analytics cookies, and YouTube, if you accept marketing cookies.

  • Mailchimp: sends our newsletter

  • Sage: accounts and invoicing

  • Worldpay: card payments by phone or payment link

  • Banks and payment providers: to receive your payments

  • Couriers: delivery details, which can include a phone number or email for delivery updates

  • WhatsApp: if you message us there

  • Online marketplaces: if you buy from us there

  • Netlify: hosts our 3D product viewer, which also loads fonts from Google

  • Our accountant: annual accounts and tax

  • IT services: backups, and an AI assistant we use for admin

  • HMRC and others: where the law requires it

We don't sell your information. Our site links to other companies' websites; their own privacy notices apply.

Outside the UK

Some of these providers, including Wix, Google, Mailchimp, WhatsApp and our AI assistant, are based in or store data in the United States or other countries outside the UK. When your information leaves the UK, it's protected either because the UK government has approved the country or scheme (for example the UK–US Data Bridge) or by contract terms approved by the ICO. Ask us if you'd like details.

How long we keep it

  • Invoices, payments and other transaction records: 6 years, as HMRC requires.

  • Customer contact details: while you're a customer, plus 6 years.

  • Enquiries, chats and messages that don't lead to an order: 2 years from your last contact.

  • Business contacts we've found ourselves: 2 years from our last contact, or straight away if you ask us to stop (we keep only a note not to contact you again).

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep just your email address on a "do not email" list, so we don't add you again by mistake.

  • Website analytics: up to 14 months.

  • Card details: not kept.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of your information

  • correct anything that's wrong

  • delete it

  • limit how we use it, or object to a use based on our legitimate interests

  • send it to you, or another organisation, in a standard digital format

  • stop emailing you, or withdraw any consent you've given, at any time

Email sales@seelight.co.uk. It's free, and we'll reply within one month. We may need to check who you are first. Some rights have limits: for example, we must keep accounting records for 6 years even if you ask us to delete them.

If you're unhappy, tell us and we'll try to put it right. Email sales@seelight.co.uk with "Privacy complaint" in the subject; we'll acknowledge it within 30 days and tell you what we've done about it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Our cookie banner sorts them into groups, and you choose which to allow.

  • Essential (always on): set by Wix, our website platform, and its security service, to run the site, remember your cookie choice and keep it secure.

  • Functional (only if you accept): Wix's own measure of how well the site runs.

  • Analytics (only if you accept): Google Analytics counts visits and shows which pages get used, with Google's advertising features switched off. The same switch turns on Google Maps on the home and Contact pages. When the map loads, your browser sends your IP address and device details to Google. Until you accept, you'll see a "blocked" box instead of the map.

  • Marketing (only if you accept): YouTube (part of Google), which plays the videos on our pages, and Mailchimp's site script, which links our emails to visits to the site. These companies can use what they collect for their own purposes, including advertising. Videos won't play until you accept.

The cookies this site sets, and how long they last (checked October 2026):

  • Essential: svSession (13 months); consent-policy (12 months, remembers your choice); __cf_bm (30 minutes); ssr-caching (20 seconds); hs, XSRF-TOKEN and server-session-bind (end of your visit).

  • Functional: bSession (up to 30 minutes). Wix only sets it if you also allow Analytics.

  • Analytics: _ga and _ga_6JDZYELQ2E (13 months).

  • Marketing: YouTube sets YSC (end of your visit) and VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, VISITOR_PRIVACY_METADATA, __Secure-YNID and __Secure-ROLLOUT_TOKEN (6 months) on youtube.com. Mailchimp's script set no cookies when we checked.

Your cookie choice is also kept in your browser's storage (ucData, ucString, ucGcmStatus), not as a cookie. Only essential cookies are set until you choose. You can change your mind any time with the round privacy button at the bottom left of every page.

Changes

We'll update this notice when the way we use personal information changes.
